Community Montessori Children’s Centre is fortunate to bring our pets into the classroom. We believe that having dogs and, at other times, different animals is an integral part of our Montessori environment. Animals can teach us empathy, compassion, respect and care for animals.
The staff bring their dogs Fynn, Chico and Piper to the school on a daily basis and at times we have visits from enrolled parents pets and special visits from different agencies such as the BC Guide dogs. Some of the pet visitors we have had in the past have included; rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils and hermit crabs.
When parents come to the school for a visit they will be received with a warm welcome from not only the staff but also our four legged friends!
