Active Play

Active play sessions will generally be broken into two fifteen minute segments, when implemented indoors or for thirty minutes if we are going outside as a group.

These active play sessions may include:

  • Running
  • Jumping
  • Kicking balls
  • Catching balls
  • Dancing
  • Yoga
  • Games
  • Neighbourhood walks
  • Free play in the playground, playing field or school property

The objective is to promote active and healthy safe play. It will also promote physical literacy, develop coordination, balance and gross and fine motor skills.

Community Montessori Preschool has a “no screen time policy”.

Please note: all children must be dressed appropriately for daily outdoor play. Exceptions will be made when the teachers feel the weather is unsuitable.
