Welcome to the Community Association of Montessori Parents (C.A.M.P.) website.
Community Association of Montessori Parents (CAMP) is a non-profit Montessori preschool that provides enriched Montessori programs located in Vancouver.
CAMP offers Montessori preschool programs for three- and four-year-olds, in addition to a Kindergarten program for five-year-olds. Our school provides:
- Full Montessori preschool and Montessori Kindergarten curriculum
- Montessori certified teachers
- Introduction to French and music
- Five half-day classes per week
Our morning program runs 8:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.;
the afternoon class runs 12:30 p.m. until 3:15 p.m.
At CAMP, we provide children the foundation of lifelong learning. Our aim is to support each student so they can fulfill their potential, while developing independence, responsibility, self confidence and self esteem.
We are located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Cedar Cottage, in East Vancouver. Adjacent to our property is Tyee Montessori Elementary School, with its fabulous new playground and green space.
If teaching is to be effective with young children, it must assist them to advance on the way to independence. It must initiate them into those kinds of activities which they can perform themselves. We must help them to learn how to walk without assistance, to run, to go up and down the stairs, to pick up fallen objects, to dress and undress, to wash themselves, to express their needs in a way that is clearly understood, and to attempt to satisfy their desires through their own efforts. All this is part of an education for independence.”
